Is there a plan in place to support JetBrains Rider IDE?

Thanks again for the suggestion.

In the future, we hope to expand OzCode's functionality to other IDEs, and JetBrains Rider is definitely one of them.

Although not currently under active development, this is indeed planned for the future. Any updates on this front will be shared on this thread.

JetBrains Rider is definitely on our minds :) Although we do not have any concrete plan / dates to speak of yet.

Hi Omer. Now with Rider out in full force, any movement on this? Really missing it since switching IDEs.

Hi Richard! We still don't have any official announcements to make but definitely watch this space as we are very busy working out the exact plan for OzCode's expansion into new IDEs and new languages as we speak. Thank you for your kind words - we miss you too :)

Could you please share your plans? I can only suspect that there will be no support for Visual Studio for Mac as this is completely different environment. So perhaps some support for Rider? I'd be more than happy to participate in some kind of beta program.

Keeping a very close eye on this, would love to see OzCode in Rider!

This would be an excellent benefit to the renewal of an OzCode subscription. :)

Yes! I'm using Rider in Production every day and OzCode will be great plugin for productive work!

People started to ask for your features in Rider, and they do it by referencing your features page.

Hi Richard,

While Rider support is something we are still very much interested in, we do not have an update to give just yet.

We promise to update this thread if and when that happens.

Hello,

I have switched to using Rider as my main IDE so I don't get to use OzCode anymore. I canceled my subscription just because I'm not benefiting from OzCode. I'd happily get OzCode again if Rider support was offered. I think OzCode is a great product.

Thank You,

Khalid

I've switched to Rider as well and will cancel my OzCode subscription unfortunately.

I'll add my vote for Rider support as well. And I've also canceled my subscription, because I am not going back to Visual Studio.

Adding my vote as well. Switched to Rider and missing the OzCode functionality already.

It's been 4 years since I first asked, but thought I would check in again (cause I'm never going back to VS since switching to Jetbrains Rider).

Is there any movement on this, or do I give up the dream?

Hi Richard, no, I wouldn't give up hope :) But I'd like to provide some insights into where we're going - we are currently investing a lot of efforts on the Production Debugger. Having said that, we plan to reinvigorate our investment in our IDE extensions (both VS and possibly others) in 2021, and also provide new features that are quite disruptive. Please stay tuned.

We all know that creating extensions is not easy. Especially when a company needs to support extensions for multiple products. However, I, like many others here, discovered how Rider fits my daily workflow unmeasurably better than Visual Studio. Starting with IDE performance, through UI clarity, ending with constant valuable updates. There are many reasons why I do not plan to switch back to Visual Studio in a couple of years from now, and I wouldn't be surprised if I never come back.

I bought OzCode several years ago and was really happy with the provided functionality. Once I switched to Rider, I decided to cancel my license. To put it clearly, I love functional programming: IEnumerable, IQueryable and LINQ are everywhere in my code, hence having means to better debug was really great and time-saving.

Once OzCode is available for Rider, it would be a no-brainer for me, just another obvious tool that I want to buy, support and share my excitement. I was the first person in my team who switched to Rider, nobody wanted to follow, now everyone has a license. OzCode team, please do not lose your chance in this game :)

Hoping to see some hope in this regard,

Marcin

Hi Marcin. We're currently working on a new capability that's going to display Production data relevant to the code you're developing right in your IDE, and this is something we're seriously considering for Rider - so there's hope. We're reaching out to the community to hear how YOU would like something like that to be implemented - if you'd like to add your view, please fill in our short (1 min) survey.
