Dragging quick watch window's scroll handle doesn't refresh contents

Cameron Miller 6 years ago updated by Lior Kerner 4 years ago 3
If you quick watch a variable whose class has (unfortunately) a lot of members, you have to scroll to get to the one you want. If you use the drag bar to scroll, the watch window doesn't redraw the contents and you can't see where you are in the list. It doesn't redraw until you mouse up. Please redraw the contents of the quick watch window whenever the scroll bar value changes.

Thanks a lot for your feedback, Cameron! We've disabled the instant-feedback on scrolling in the QuickWatch and DataTip windows because of a performance issue where scrolling gets sluggish in some cases - and when that happens, it actually feels smoother if we only update on mouse up. That being said, we've recently made some very significant improvements in scrolling speed and there are still more to come. We will reconsider whether this behavior is still needed once the aforementioned improvements are in place.

Thanks again!

Please enable the update. I am using a pen tablet and not updating the window is a big problem for me.
