I had to do some remote debugging and it appears that Oz Code doesn't work when attaching to remote processes. The watch windows are not replaced and I'm getting regular ones from VS 2013 (Update 2). So search, filter, custom expressions etc do not work. Also, the buttons on the left bar do not appear and clicking in place where they should be doesn't work... except for Trace Points - it's the only feature that appears to be working with Remote Debugger. Besides, when I used Trace Points with Remote Debugger, and stopped debugging, VS crashed.

If it helps, I used Ctrl+Alt+P, chose remote transport with no auth, picked a process on a remote machine. Both running with debugger and attaching to the local processes seemed to work fine.

Thanks for you kind words, we really appreciate it :)

We are well aware of the demand for Remote Debugging support, and are definitely considering it for future updates.

We promise to update this ticket as soon as we have some news on that front.

Thank you for your feedback, Marcin! OzCode currently does not support Remote Debugging, and OzCode's features will not present themselves in this scenario. This is something we hope to solve for OzCode v2.  I will try to reproduce the crash you mentioned regarding Tracepoints, but it would be hard to track down without a crash dump - if you ever in the future you suspect your Visual Studio process has crashed, please take a crash dump and we will analyze it to understand whether it was OzCode or something else that caused the crash.

Thanks again!

Is this coming soon? It is hard to justify purchasing this given my heavy reliance on remote debugger, but i could really use the search/watch features.

Thanks for reaching out, Shane! Unfortunately, we currently cannot give any estimate of when we will add support for remote debugging scenarios. We will definitely update this post as soon as we have any news.

Any news about OzCode not working when remote debugging in VS2017?
